Once again I ask, where is the UN? How many “stern warnings” will they give while innocent people are caught in nothing short of a war for Oil, land & for the purpose of squelching freedom?
Make no mistake, this was a probing test for Russia, to see how fare they could push their luck with the international community, & how much they could take before someone stepped in to stop them.
So what has the US done in response? Not much more than the same kind of empty rebuking that the UN has done. Does President Bush really think that Russia cares what he says? We should load up T’Bilisi with a full fledged fighting force. Now THAT would send a message. This administration needs to remember one thing. Honor is no more with our enemies. They only understand on thing, & that is force.
It’s the least we can do after Georgia sent more troops to Iraq to assist us, than some of out bigger allies have. Show weakness, & Russia will respond like a dog does when you show fear. They will keep getting more & more aggressive.
Right now the message we’re sending to Georgia is, “Hey, we have your back, as long as it doesn’t cost us politically, or involve actually doing anything other than trash talk.”
Since the U.N. regularly ignores our nation’s sovereignty, if things were right, we’d kick them out of this country, stop wasting tax payer money on this organization, & then ignore their idle threats until they spend some time investigating & solving REAL human rights violations, like say oh.. Darfur? Let me say that again for the nimrods at the U.N. DARFUR! GO FIX DARFUR! Leave the U.S. alone..
Well, I’d really like to get behind the Republican Candidate. The only problem is, we don’t have one running. What we have is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, who will sell us down the river for a song, & a bottle of Jack Daniels to swig while he sings his drunken & bitter farewell to the Republican Party. With the following speech, he has cemented my complete distrust in his ability to protect the sovereignty of the country I love. My country, the United States of America. Read the excerpts below from McCain’s recent speech on foreign policy, & pay attention to some of the frightening statements I’ve highlighted. Full Speech can be found here at one of his favorite publications.
The United States must lead in the 21st century, just as in Truman’s day. But leadership today means something different than it did in the years after World War II, when Europe and the other democracies were still recovering from the devastation of war and the United States was the only democratic superpower. Today we are not alone. There is the powerful collective voice of the European Union, and there are the great nations of India and Japan, Australia and Brazil, South Korea and South Africa, Turkey and Israel, to name just a few of the leading democracies. There are also the increasingly powerful nations of China and Russia that wield great influence in the international system.
In such a world, where power of all kinds is more widely and evenly distributed, the United States cannot lead by virtue of its power alone. We must be strong politically, economically, and militarily. But we must also lead by attracting others to our cause, by demonstrating once again the virtues of freedom and democracy, by defending the rules of international civilized society and by creating the new international institutions necessary to advance the peace and freedoms we cherish. Perhaps above all, leadership in today’s world means accepting and fulfilling our responsibilities as a great nation.
One of those responsibilities is to be a good and reliable ally to our fellow democracies. We cannot build an enduring peace based on freedom by ourselves, and we do not want to. We have to strengthen our global alliances as the core of a new global compact — a League of Democracies — that can harness the vast influence of the more than one hundred democratic nations around the world to advance our values and defend our shared interests.
At the heart of this new compact must be mutual respect and trust. Recall the words of our founders in the Declaration of Independence, that we pay “decent respect to the opinions of mankind.” Our great power does not mean we can do whatever we want whenever we want, nor should we assume we have all the wisdom and knowledge necessary to succeed. We need to listen to the views and respect the collective will of our democratic allies. When we believe international action is necessary, whether military, economic, or diplomatic, we will try to persuade our friends that we are right. But we, in return, must be willing to be persuaded by them.
America must be a model citizen if we want others to look to us as a model. How we behave at home affects how we are perceived abroad. We must fight the terrorists and at the same time defend the rights that are the foundation of our society. We can’t torture or treat inhumanely suspected terrorists we have captured. I believe we should close Guantanamo and work with our allies to forge a new international understanding on the disposition of dangerous detainees under our control.
There is such a thing as international good citizenship. We need to be good stewards of our planet and join with other nations to help preserve our common home. The risks of global warming have no borders. We and the other nations of the world must get serious about substantially reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the coming years or we will hand off a much-diminished world to our grandchildren. We need a successor to the Kyoto Treaty, a cap-and-trade system that delivers the necessary environmental impact in an economically responsible manner. We Americans must lead by example and encourage the participation of the rest of the world, including most importantly, the developing economic powerhouses of China and India.
Well John McCain, You are no Ronald Reagan, & he rejected virtually everything you’ve put forth in your speech.
Warnings came about a year ago, when John McCain cunningly eluded to his own Kerryesque “global test” philosophy. (See video below, it makes more sense now.) This is one reason why so many Democrats crossed over to vote for McCain in the primaries. Listen to what the wolf said back then. He’s is of course airing his globalist NWO out in the open completely, now that he has the nomination wrapped up & Conservatives can’t do anything about it now. In short, we Conservatives just got screwed. I will never vote for him. Personally I’d rather he got the “domestic housing crisis” wrong, & the foreign policy & sovereignty of the US right. I think our sovereignty is a wee bit more important. ~Dan Lee
Glenn Beck is rightfully sounding the horn about a treaty before the US Congress right now, that would effectively dash our sovereignty & our Constitution to little flaming bits.
After watching this video, it should become clear to you why you need to immediately call your Congressman, & demand that this country does NOT sign any such treaty with the United Nations. Under the so called Law of the Sea Treaty, the U.N. would be given control over 70% of the earth’s surface.. We would no longer be able to stop ships suspected of terrorism in these newly proposed “International Waters”. Do you want an Iranian battleship getting close to our shores unchecked, because they have a “right to” under this treaty? This is a really critical Treaty, & the liberal socialist media in our country is trying to bury the story. We the people must stand up against this Treaty, & make sure IT DOES NOT GET SIGNED BY THE UNITED STATES. ~Dan Lee
It’s no secret that hypocrisy runs deeper than the San Andreas fault in the Democratic Party, but this one may take the cake. The Dems some of whom practically tore Bush’s head off, & called Iraq an “Illegal War”, now indicate they don’t see any problem with invading Pakistan to get Bin Laden, without the permission of the Pakistani Government or the “International Community.”
The opening moments of the Saturday evening 01/08 Democratic debate in N.H. produced agreement on a statement Obama made last summer, that he would take action against terrorist leader Usama bin Laden if he had actionable intelligence that he was hiding in Pakistan and the government there did not act.
“As much as possible,” the United States should seek agreement from Pakistanis, Obama added.
Edwards agreed. “If I as president of the United States know where Usama bin Laden is I would go get him,” the 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee said.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said that if diplomacy failed and the Pakistani government was incapable of moving against the terrorist leader, “then you do take that action.”
Note:
Senator Clinton added her very incoherent & completely off topic two cents, which seemed to come out of left field, or that 80’s movie “War Games”. However, most of us pundits agree, that she was trying to concur with the other more intelligent candidates.
Clinton agreed, saying, “At some point, probably when the missiles have been launched, the Pakistani government has to know they are on the way.” She said that was important to make sure Pakistan didn’t jump to the conclusion that it was under attack from India, its longtime rival in southwest Asia.
In October 2002, the most explicit terms Clinton used to apply to an invasion of Iraq, was that “international support and legitimacy are crucial” to any U.S. action in Iraq. But in the same statement, she also warned of the threats of “Saddam Hussein’s biological and chemical weapons.”
Dan Lee Comments:
See, here’s how it is.. Democrats like to be on both sides of an issue, as you can see from the statements above. They take the most advantageous position for the day, & go with the polling on it. If they think Americans may have changed their mood, they poll it, & they change their position to tell us what they think we want to hear. Principal is not what drives their political ambition, but rather the lust for power.
After most of these candidates backed the War Resolution, they turned around later (when it was to their political advantage to exploit a war weary public) & claimed that Iraq was basically an illegal war, because Kofi Annan gave them the idea (the king of UN corruption) to say it is.. Now apparently they think they can convince us that they can just go into Pakistan all gangbusters (a country with Nukes), & pluck Bin Laden out like a tick on a white dog. Sure, & those radical Muslim tribes will just put down their weapons & hand him over right? Talk about starting a bloodbath of sectarian fighting in one of the most dangerous regions of the Near East! Give these idiots power, & apparently they’ll demonstrate that they have no problem with starting a full fledged war in a country that has an unstable Government, & a bunch of nukes that would just be ripe to have fall into the hands of extremists. What if they get bad intelligence? Will they deride & impeach themselves if they are wrong?
What happened to all that “need for International support” stuff Democrats? DemoChameleons! You Lie!
