At least one highly experienced foreign analyst thinks Russia is acting like a schoolyard bully, but does it go even further & deeper than that? Russia’s foreign minister Serghej Lavrov spewed out an ill-conceived ultimatum Wednesday demanding that the US chooses between Georgia, or Russia, after President Bush warned the Kremlin that “the United States stands with the democratically elected government of Georgia.”
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice countered with, “This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia where Russia can threaten a neighbor, occupy a capital, overthrow a government and get away with it.Things have changed.”
Is it me, or do the Russians sound eerily akin to certain islamic terror groups whenever they open their mouths these days? And if they do resemble these groups, why are we negotiating with them?

The analyst in the video below agrees with my early assessments that this was nothing more than a Russian land/power grab.
Oh, on a “side note”.. The U.N. is still figuring out how they can send a bit more than a “stern” letter, since Russia would have to vote for it’s own condemnation as a “member in good standing”..
How can we as Americans stand by & let this megalomaniac take over the House of Representatives like she’s “Catherine the Great”? It’s truly scary when ONE government official can stop our entire government from voting in a democracy, on issues that go directly to the bottom line of our nations stability & security. Why should she be able to do that on ANY issue for that matter? In this case the issue is energy independence, & national security, & it’s a huge deal for the American people. THIS IS ONE WOMAN, WITH A PERSONAL AGENDA! It’s time for people to wake up, & demand her removal, if she refuses to do HER JOB.

Once again I ask, where is the UN? How many “stern warnings” will they give while innocent people are caught in nothing short of a war for Oil, land & for the purpose of squelching freedom?
Make no mistake, this was a probing test for Russia, to see how fare they could push their luck with the international community, & how much they could take before someone stepped in to stop them.
So what has the US done in response? Not much more than the same kind of empty rebuking that the UN has done. Does President Bush really think that Russia cares what he says? We should load up T’Bilisi with a full fledged fighting force. Now THAT would send a message. This administration needs to remember one thing. Honor is no more with our enemies. They only understand on thing, & that is force.
It’s the least we can do after Georgia sent more troops to Iraq to assist us, than some of out bigger allies have. Show weakness, & Russia will respond like a dog does when you show fear. They will keep getting more & more aggressive.
Right now the message we’re sending to Georgia is, “Hey, we have your back, as long as it doesn’t cost us politically, or involve actually doing anything other than trash talk.”
I read this in the news today, & it made me wish I was in charge of the military response to Russia’s unlawful invasion of Georgia:
Abkahzian separatists backed by Russian military might pushed out Georgian troops and even moved into Georgian territory itself, defiantly planted a flag over the Inguri River and laughing that retreating Georgians had received “American training in running away.”
If Reagan were President, this wouldn’t be happening, & there would be sorties of U.S. Bombers & Blackhawks decimating Russian armor as we speak.
Meanwhile the UN (United Nothings) are of course sitting on their asses & waving a stick at Russia saying, “Now you better stop that or else.” OOooh now I bet they’re scared now! Not…

If the conflict has still not died down enough for BP to turn the gas pumps in Baku back on, Turkey will need to make up for the lost supplies by turning to Iran.
Turkey may be an ambivalent ally of the US, but they are still an ally. Russia has allied with Iran in recent years. Are you seeing the picture forming here? Basically Russia & it’s rogue nation allies like Iran, don’t want Georgia to be able to provide competitive energy to surrounding nations, & they are sour that we’ve helped them get that energy. This is a two prong assault on both the oil markets, & meant to be an “example” of what happens when you mess with Russia’s energy pimping practices.
It’s serious people. They want us & our allies hooked on their energy sources, & all the while we have people like Nancy Pelosi & her Democrat cronies trying to keep us from getting our own. She issues a house statement to condemn the “Russian intimidation”. Big deal! If there weren’t pansy nut cases like her to make sure we can’t get at our own energy, there would have been no incentive for Russia to act this way in the first place! How long until we’re speaking Russian under those conditions? Not long.. You can’t fight a defensive war without oil my friends. It’s never been done, & never will be. Thanks to environmental lunatics & extremist Democrats like Reid, Pelosi, Stoyer, ect. we don’t have the capability to run tanks & war planes on nuclear power either. We wont have much luck attaching windmills to M1 Abrams tanks either. So that leads us back to the oil that the white flagger Democrats hate so much doesn’t it…
I hope my fellow countrymen/women will understand how serious this move Russia has made really is. It’s not just a little skirmish, & it’s timing was purposeful. The Olympics are a big distraction for the world, & Russia knew it, which makes what they’ve done even more devious. I’m sorry that turning your head away from poll vaulting & swimming to pay attention to this is an inconvenience, but if you don’t, we’re going to have an even greater energy crises than we ever thought possible in this country by next year. Russia cannot be allowed to try & influence the energy market through brute force. It simple cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
Additionally, when we asked Georgia to send troops to Iraq, they did. Not only that, they sent more than some larger nations did. Now, we owe them to at least keep Russia out of their country, even if that means sending troops there. Russia has no soul, & clearly didn’t mind bombing civilians, yet the left in this country is almost completely silent. There are no “Putin lied, & people died” banners being held up in the streets of America. That’s because leftists have always lined up with communism. They simply don’t care, because quite frankly many of these globalists wouldn’t mind being Russia’s or any other commie country’s “bitches”. The left in this country has no soul either, so that would be right down their alley. I hope that good people in the US wake up soon, because this seemingly “small conflict” has farther reaching consequences than most people are realizing right now.

As part of their campaign to take over congress, they bashed the current administration over the rise in fuel costs, & promised that they would change things. Here we are 2 years later, & what has happened instead?
Well interestingly, as the Democrat led Congress’ approval ratings have gone to new record lows, the Gas prices for Americans have gone to new record highs! They’re pushing apart as polar opposites.
When the Dems took over congress, oil cost The U.S. $56 per barrel. Now? it’s $112 per barrel!

I personally believe they (the Democrats) & a few naive Republicans were hoping to bully Big Oil companies into lowering their prices in order to look like the knights in shining armor during an election year. They got a big oil surprise though when they tried that. The big oil companies confused the congressional morons with well.. the facts! Like this one:

Translation: “Why in the world can China make a deal with Cuba to drill for oil only 50 mi. off of the Florida Keys, but we are banned by the environmentalists from doing the same?”
Yes, those environmentalist idiots like Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida, who instead of being concerned about lowering the United States dependence on foreign oil, is worried that a Cuban oil spill could hurt the state of Florida’s environment and $50-billion tourism industry. He wants to block drilling in Cuba’s northern waters (& ANWAR, & even on the Beverly Hillbillies property retroactively), because his aides forgot to tell him it was only a TV show.
“Any oil spill 45 miles from Key West is going to absolutely devastate all those delicate coral reefs, the fragile Florida Keys, and would endanger pristine beaches all the way up to Fort Pierce,” said Nelson, a Democrat.
So he thinks he’s going to stop Cuba & China from doing this? If he’s so worried, why doesn’t he let the U.S., who has the best & safest oil drilling/exploration technology in the world, co-operate on energy matters with Cuba?
Interestingly also, Nelson’s own state’s environmental website doesn’t list oil exploration as a hazard to Coral Reefs, making him a double idiot for opening his mouth without even having the support of what would be presumably Florida’s leading environmental agency! In fact they list Boat anchors, ship groundings, widespread dredging, & land based sources of pollution as being the most damaging.
I’ll tell you the real reason why they don’t want us to drill while their power in the Congress is teetering on the edge of disastrous failure.. The Democrats want to hold energy over our heads just like they want to hold health care in their hands, & dangle it in front of us like a carrot at election time. That is until they get rid of those pesky election things altogether. Right now if we were to find a massive oil source with Republican president in office, & while they & the Greenbats are fighting oil exploration, it would be a devastating blow to their plans to build a fascist state controlled energy system. Well, a wise man once said that “A fact to a Liberal, is like kryptonite to Superman.”

Well, the Enviro-MENTAL-ists have finally done it. They’ve convinced our government to ban Incandescent Light bulbs, & replace them with mercury poison filled fluorescents. MMmmm Mercury, need more of that in the landfills huh? How else can you be assured that Mercury will leak into the water table! It’s an amazing scam, & a sordid tale of ensuring job security for environmental extremists, while also helping to further validate the Global Warming hysteria of Reverend Gore & his apparently mercury poisoned followers. I wonder if they secretly eat these bulbs, & that’s why they want more of them? You know, kind of like dropping acid? Well anyway…
I can see it coming.. Thousand of people killed every year because the Governments around the world have been sold the greatest scam of the last two centuries, which is Global Warming as caused by humans. Cheap & poorly produced Incandescent bulbs will be produced within third world & patent ingnoring countries to fill the Black Market demand for a cheaper bulb. Fires in homes, & slave labor to produce inferior bulbs for all those who can no longer afford to light their homes. What’s that you say? Fluorescents have gotten very affordable, so your point is moot you say? Au contraire, mon frère! Once the Incandescents are banned, we will be fleeced by bulb manufacturers with night vision goggles, like fenced in sheep in the midnight hour. We will wake to find that Fluorescent bulbs have become the only choice, & therefore we’ll be exposed to the same kind of extortion that so many utility companies have perpetrated on us.
Some folks will go back to candles.. Hmmm, that doesn’t sound like it helps with global warming, or house fire prevention for that matter, does it?
Just like so many bone headed governmental decisions, this one was not thought through, it was just a knee jerk reaction to the latest nutroot demands on a majority Democratic Congress, & as usual the citizens of the United States will pay for it for years to come.
P.S. Nice touch by Michelle Malkin on the Green & Red swilry bulbs she pictured in her article. I’m sure she’s taken into account that several Moonbat towns in Massachusetts & Colorado will send her cease & desist letters to keep those Red & Green Christmasy bulbs from being downloaded by their town-sheep!
