Democrats actually want to RAISE the federal Gas Tax. Can anyone stop the insanity?
Not only did the Democrats keep any talk of a summer Gas Tax Holiday coming up for a vote, they are now discussing (behind closed doors of course) a Federal Gas Tax INCREASE..
Under pressure from the powerful construction lobbyists, they are citing their reasoning as being the need for “road improvements”.
That’s just great..
Johnny: “Mommy, what’s that really smooth black strip down the street that leads to a bigger one with white stripes down the middle for?”
Mommy: “Oh that’s called a highway honey.. Our government made sure it was perfectly smooth & well painted, but nobody can afford to drive on it because Gasoline is too expensive. So you can take your bike out there now, & you don’t even have to worry about being hit by cars. Isn’t it great? Speaking of that, I need to get to my doctors appointment Dear. Do you mind taking me the fifteen miles down the highway on the handlebars of your bike for your first time on it? I’d make the ride myself, but Mommy is 6 mos pregnant, & Daddy had to leave at 4 am on his bike to make it to work on time at 9 am..”
