Oh Goody! It’s translation time!
Well Teddy Kennedy managed to crawl up on top of the liquor cabinet long enough to endorse Barack Obama today.
“It is time now for Barack Obama,” Said Ted Kennedy.
Translation:
Holy Smokes! He ran Hillary over like a pigeon on the Mass Pike in South Carolina.. It’s time for me to endorse this guy.
He stood with Obama, his son Rep. Patrick Kennedy and his niece, Caroline Kennedy before a boisterous full capacity crowd of students at American University in Washington, DC.
“Like you, we want a president who appeals to the hopes of those who still believe in the American dream,” he said.
Translation:
To hell with principle, or past loyalties, we need to get behind the one that can win this thing.
“I’ve found that candidate. And it looks to me like you have too,” he said.
Kennedy says he has always planned to “support the candidate who inspires me, who inspires all of us, who can lift our vision and summon our hopes and renew our belief that our country’s best days are still to come.”
Translation:
“I’ve always planned to pick the candidate who has the least chance of getting hammered into the ground like a cheap tent stake by the Republicans. Besides, speaking of getting hammered, how am I supposed to go out drinking with Hillary? She starts crying after a one glass of champagne.”
After getting nervous about Bill Clinton’s repeated gasket failures while talking to (or yelling at) the media, it looks like the ranks of the Democratic Party are starting to file in behind Obama lockstep. I’m not sad, & nobody in their right mind should be, as I think this country has had enough of the Clinton’s & their scandalous political practices to last us oh….. for eternity.. Bring on Obama, I just Love a spirited & legitimate Presidential race. I mean I know we’ll beat him, but at least with Obama it will be a debate mostly on the actually issues, instead of a campaign that’s financed by 75% SHADY MONEY, & court battles to make last minute changes to the voting system. There will also be less crying. ~Dan Lee
