Latest Spending Bill is a stuffed Turkey, & the Border Fence is the Giblet the Dems threw away..
Yes they funded the troops finally, but once again we tax payers have been financially raped by the Democrats & some spineless Republicans in the process, because instead of funding the border fence, they cut the funding for it & earmarked money for roughly 9,000 pet projects. While American citizens are screaming “Please Secure the Borders!” Our government is whispering back to us, “Now you go over there, sit down & be quiet, & we’ll take care of everything.”
Of course the problem is that Congress as a whole is taking care of their own political ambition, & doesn’t seem to care two turds about what “We the People” want them to do on our dime. It’s really time to for people in the country to wake up on this issue, before a dirty nuke that’s casually strolled over the border explodes & wakes them up the hard way. Here’s the story below.. Read it & weep, but then I’d get angry & act at the polls this year if I were you.. ~Dan Lee

The spending bill, written by Democrats and passed 253-154 with mostly their votes, surrenders to President Bush’s budget demands, meeting his spending limit with a $515 billion bill to fund most of the federal government and setting up votes to pay for the Iraq war. But Democrats reached his goal in part by slashing his defense and foreign-aid priorities to pay for added domestic spending.
Republicans and watchdog groups criticized Democrats for rushing to pass a 3,500-page bill that conceals abrupt policy shifts and more than 9,000 earmarks for lawmakers’ pet projects.
And the border fence was a major objection for Republicans.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, who crafted the language to build double-tier fencing in California, said the changes would be “a significant step backwards.”
“Pulling back from the double-fence mandate is a prescription for failure that will only allow more smugglers, criminals and illegal aliens to enter the United States through our land border with Mexico,” said the California Republican, who also is running for his party’s presidential nomination.
Michelle Malkin has done some really great reporting on this here: See What the Malkinator has to say about the pillaging of funds that should have been earmarked for the Border Fence!
